In order to ensure the highest quality inspectors for all CPOF users, CPOF is committed to supporting all organizations dedicated to the home inspection profession. To be a CPOF-approved inspector, inspectors must have at least the following:
1. Signed / Notarized 2 year construction / inspection experience Affidavit
2. General Liability Insurance (Minimum $300,000)
3. Have been in business at least 2 years
4. Have maintained at least 12 hours minimum continuing education hours annually (confirmed as part of Affidavit)
5. Inspectors must also sign and notarize a Criminal History Affidavit
6. Inspectors must complete a full inspectors business profile / history and fully disclose relevant experience and qualifications for users to review on inspector search function
7. Inspectors must upload business logo and head shot for users to fully review on front end inspector search function
8. Completed paperwork must be either emailed back to CPOF Headquarters or faxed to 888.331.0716
Master Building Inspectors, full members of ASHI, NAHI, FABI, TARIE, CREIA, licensed contractors, engineers or other equivalent Inspector Associations, meet the requirements of CPOF. Once you have registered, the Criminal History Affidavit and Experience Affidavit will be emailed to you automatically.
